    COURSE INFORMATION
Sport and Exercise Psychology is a relatively new field of applied psychology, which is rapidly evolving. Increased media interest in both elite performance and physical activity has drawn attention to the need to understand how and why people engage in physical activity. In performance sport, most National Governing Bodies recognise sports science support as an important part of training and competition and many employ sport psychologists to assist in the mental training of athletes for World Class competition. Similarly, now that physical activity has become part of the NHS framework, the demand for exercise specialists is set to increase.
