Entry requirementsEntry Requirements Preferably a UK 2:1 honours degree, or its equivalent if outside the UK. Applicants holding a UK 2:2 honours degree, or its equivalent from outside the UK, may also be considered. This is a world-class programme, which has been designed to provide a unique educational opportunity in Geographic Information Science (GIS).
There are three streams: GIS (taught), GIS (by research) and GIS & Society (by research, for social sciences and human geography students). The GIS taught MSc programme is tailored to students who have their eye on the job market, with core courses that reflect the needs of industry and provide our students with a marketable edge. The GIS research degree supportsstudents wanting to pursue future research and give those students who have a strong background in GIS the flexibility to take courses in other disciplines (for example Informatics) and spend more time developing their dissertation research. The GIS and Society degree encourages a critical view on the implications and societal ramifications of GIS.
