This course is designed to meet the needs of those who wish to apply knowledge and understanding of accounting to a career in business, management or finance, without necessarily wishing to pursue a professional qualification. Accountancy students can develop their knowledge and skills in accountancy and related subjects. The programme enables you to tailor your final award to reflect your own aspirations and strengths when competing in the work environment.
Entry Requirements General entry requirements Normally 240 points which must include one 12-unit award or two 6-unit awards, plus GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C or above.
Year 1 is a common first year across all Accountancy programmes in the Department of Accountancy and comprises:

At this point you may choose to take specialist routes in Small Businesses, Law, Information Systems or to transfer to the professionally accredited BA(Hons) Accountancy and Finance.
