  • Objectives
The King's history degree is designed to develop critical thinking and independence of thought about the past. You begin by choosing modules offering a broad sweep of history in the first year. Many students find the emphasis on change over long periods of time a welcome relief from the short periods studied at A-level. You move on to select more focused options in your second and third year, as well as a thematic special subject which encourages your to think theoretically and comparatively about the periods and places you have studied at the end of your degree.
