  General information
  
  This is a full time course suitable for students aged 16-19 years. You will need to enjoy sports and fitness and have the desire to improve your own personal fitness. You must be willing to work within a team environment and have a commitment to develop your own personal qualities. You must be committed, enthusiastic, energetic and have a keen interest in developing skills and techniques that will help you find employment in the sports and leisure industries.
  
  Course content
  
  The course coveres the following units:
  
      * Learning to Organise a Sport or Leisure Activity
      * Learning how to Communicate with Customers
      * Learning the Basics of how to Coach
      * Healthy Body
      * Practical Sport.
      * Key Skills
  
  Teaching and assessment
  
  Students are required to complete assignments, training diaries, deliver presenations and deliver coaching sessions for practical sports.   A range of teaching strategies will be used to develop your learning including a work placement.
  
  Progression
  
  This course will allow you to progress on to BTEC First Diploma in Sports or Public Services.
