    General information

    This is a post-GCSE course for students employed in the electronics or related industry (however, a full-time National Diploma in Electronic Engineering is offered as an alternative).  The course allows entry into the Higher National Certificate.   It may also be used, when excellent results have been obtained, to gain entry to degree courses at Universities.

    Course content

    The course made up of the following units:

    Year 1

        * Mathematics
        * Communications
        * Electrical Principles
        * Electrical devices

    Year 2

        * Business Systems
        * Electronic Fault Finding
        * Analogue electronics
        * Digital Electronics Project

    Each unit is presented as a single module of study lasting 36 weeks.

    Teaching and assessment

    The assessment is by a mixture of assignments, practical work and phase tests.
