    To study Mathematics as a part of the full time GCSE Science programme you should have a D grade in GCSE Maths as one of 5 relevant D grade GCSEs.To study GCSE Maths as a separate GCSE you should have a GCSE grade D; for overseas or mature students who have not taken GCSEs, you are required to pass the GCSE Maths entrance test.
  • Course description
    Duration of course:
    1 Year.
    GCSE Maths is offered in the daytime as a part of the full-time GCSE Science programme. There are classes in the late afternoon, evening or Saturday morning for those students who are not on the full-time GCSE programme.

    What does it include?
    In GCSE Mathematics you will study:
    - Number and Algebra
    - Shape
    - Space and Measures
    - Handling data
    - Using and applying Mathematics
    Students will be entered for the June GCSE exams at either Foundation or Higher level.  Both levels are assessed by 2 exams in June of which one is non-calculator.  Regular internal assessments will take place during the year to assess progress.

    Where does it lead?
    Many students taking GCSE Maths require a Grade C pass to progress to their chosen career or university. To progress to a GCE A level Mathematics course at this College a B grade pass is required in GCSE Maths.
