    If you have experience of networks this is an intensive course to help you pass the CompTIA Network + exam. CompTIA exams are designed by the computer industry, so will help you with a carreer in IT Suport. You will learn how to install Windows 2003 servers and network clients, set up user accounts and access rights, configure protocols and monitor security settings. This is a very practical course that will help you set up and manage network systems. You can gain a BTEC qualification from this course, and then book yourself into an exam centre to take the CompTIA exam. We do not offer the Network+ exams at the college but students on this course can get a discount on the Network+ exam fees.

    What does the course lead to?


    This course offers a BTEC unit qualification.  If you study outside of class times you may be able to pass the Network+ exam, which is recognised by the IT industry.

    What does the course involve?

    If you have experience of networks this is an intensive course to help you pass the CompTIA Network + exam.  You will learn how to set up networks using Windows XP/ Vista/ Linux and Windows 2003/ 2008 Server, you will learn about TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, about network cables, remote access and security, and subnetting (splitting up your network using routers) – you can see the full list of topics on the CompTIA web site.

    You can gain a BTEC Unit qualification from this course, and then book yourself into an exam centre to take the CompTIA exam.

    As well as helping you pass the Network+ exam, this is a very practical course that will help you set up and manage network systems.
