  • Academic title
    Engineering Project Management MSc/PgDip
  • Course description
Project Management has developed from just a specialist activity into a major process for managing change and innovation. In todays rapidly evolving competitive environment, managers and engineers at every level need an in-depth understanding of the concepts and techniques required to manage projects. These can be as diverse as new product development, construction of new manufacturing facilities, implementing changes in organizational structure and culture and many other change related programmes. Project management techniques can also be adapted to manage what, up until recently, were considered operational procedures. This course will therefore also help technical managers improve their project management skills and gain a broader functional and strategic perspective on general management.

To manage projects successfully, Project Managers not only need an understanding of planning, monitoring and control techniques, they also need to appreciate corporate strategy, finance, risk, quality, human resource and contractual issues. This course is designed to fulfill this need.

Postgraduate engineering courses have also been developed jointly between MS Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies, Bangalore, India and Coventry University. The curriculum has been developed as per Coventry University rules and regulations and complies with QAA standards. Coventry University confers the MSc Engineering Project Management degree to successful candidates. MSRSAS also conducts PhD degrees with Coventry University. The research programme is in the areas of mechanical, electronics and engineering related management.
