     LLB (Hons)

    Students will spend the first year of the LLB (Hons) Legal Practice at Oxford Brookes University sudying for the Graduate Diploma in Law.  The second year will be spent at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice studying the Legal Practice course (professional qualification for those intending to practise as solicitors).
    Course content

    Year 1 (GDL):

        * Contract Law
        * Tort Law
        * Criminal Law
        * Public Law
        * European Union Law
        * Property Law and
        * the Legal Research Project.

    Year 2 (LPC):

        * Business Law and Practice
        * Property Law and Practice
        * Litigation
        * Business Accounts
        * Solicitors Accounts
        * Wills, Probate and the Administration of Estates
        * Advocacy
        * Interviewing
        * Drafting
        * Practical Legal Writing
        * Practical Legal Research

    and three elective subjects from the following list:

        * Advanced Property Law
        * Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Litigation
        * Commercial Law and Intellectual Property
        * Debt Finance
        * Employment Law
        * Equity Finance
        * Family Law
        * Private Acquisitions and
        * Private Client Law.

    Teaching, learning and assessment

    You will attend lectures, seminars and workshops as variously required by the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course.

    All the tutors who teach on the Legal Practice course are qualified barristers or solicitors.
