    Programme

    BA (Hons) Costume for Performance is taught by high calibre specialists, so you will gain a high level of vocational skills, including costume design, supervision, historical pattern cutting and construction, tailoring, corsetry and frames, millinery, surface and textile decoration, plus print and dye. Cultural Studies will introduce you to different perspectives of performing arts, visual and fashion imagery. Design is centred on the development of processes and ideas, including the interpretation of text into designs for film and theatre. The course shares at least one major project each year with BA (Hons) Make Up and Prosthetics for Performance and BA (Hons) Technical Effects for Performance.

    Your understanding of Costume for performance is deepened with the second year industry linked project. This includes work on film sets as well as work on theatre productions. In addition, the Performance Project in your third year showcases your ability against the expectations of a professional theatre environment and will showcase your work to potential employers.
