    Duration of course:
    Two years.

    What does it include?

    Your projects will involve working individually and as part of a team so that you will learn about professional production practice. You will use professional industry standard software such as Flash for 2D animation and website design. Premier & After Effects for video editing and animation production as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator with InDesign for graphic and image manipulation.

    On this course you will develop your visual design skills in interactive media learning design methods and techniques and use them to produce digital design work by following challenging project briefs. You will be taught by experienced and dedicated lecturers and technicians who currently work within the interactive media industry.

    Your learning will take place in our purpose built digital media design studios that have been awarded Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) status by the Learning & Skills Council.
     
    We believe that supporting you so that you can pursue a future in media design is important, so the course will include helping you to improve and develop your communication skills with additional Key Skills qualification study. You will receive group and individual tutorial support to keep you on track and if needed additional learning support is available.

    Where does it lead?

    When students successfully complete this course they usually progress onto Foundation Degree or BA (Hons) HE study so that they can pursue careers in information and graphic design for advertising, website and interactive media as well as digital animation or games design.

    What do I need to get onto it?
    Entry onto the course is by interview. You will need to bring with you some examples of your work that you would like to talk about, a reference from school or college and your National Record of Achievement. At interview you should demonstrate potential to benefit from this course. Ideally you will have 4 GCSEs at grade C including English Language or the equivalent level 2 vocational qualification at Merit.
