  • Objectives
    This course is for students who already have a Certificate or Diploma in education from overseas, as well as some teaching experience. It offers opportunities for further studies in relation to the early years and/or primary age range (3-11).
  • Entry requirements
    You should have successfully completed a three-year teacher education certificate or diploma allowing you to teach in your home country and have some teaching experience with children aged 311. You should also be proficient at English at an academic level. If English is not your first language, you should have either IELTS 6 (with 5 in all components) or TOEFL 6000 (with TWE5) or CBT TOEFL 237 with at least 4 in essay writing. These requirements are varied in individual cases, including through AP(E)L

    Course structure

    This course comprises five compulsory modules and three optional modules from either the BA (Hons) Education Studies or the BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies courses.

    While you should be proficient at writing in English, there are workshops, including group sessions and individual tuition, in English for Academic Purposes to help you develop the different styles of writing required for academic and professional purposes.

    You will also further develop your problem-solving, problem identification and analysis skills, typically through a project or equivalent.

        * Project in Education (two modules)
        * Educational Issues in Primary/Early Years Education
